What was Buck's uniform number??
Answer: Numbers were not worn on uniforms during Buck's Major League days. Numbers did not begin to appear on jerseys until the late 1920's and early 1930's.

When did Buck Weaver die??
Answer: Buck died on January 31, 1956 of a massive heart attack. He was walking along 71st Street on Chicago's south side on his way to see his income tax consultant. A passing motorist said he saw Buck suddenly clutch at a white picket fence in front of the house at 1224 71st Street, but by the time he got to Buck it was too late.........he died alone on that cold, raw winter day.

Where is Buck buried??
Answer: Mount Hope Cemetery, 11500 South Fairfield, Chicago, IL Section 35.

How did Weaver get his nickname Buck and where did "The Ginger Kid" name come from??
Answer: Buck received his nickname around the age of 18 when then minor league player Curt McGann was so impressed by Weaver's intense and highly spirited play...that he nicknamed him Buck and it stuck (this was somewhere around 1908). Irving Sanborn, sportswriter for the Chicago Tribune coined the name Ginger Kid for Buck.........that too stuck.....although not as well known as "Buck".
